  • Dr.
    Lindsey Bohard
    DVM, cVMA
    Veterinarian, Fear Free Certified Professional

    A native Pacific Northwesterner, Dr. Lindsey Bohard was born and raised in Albany, OR. Her lifelong love of animals and science inspired her to pursue veterinary medicine, with a particular passion for horses. She attended Eastern Oregon University where she received her Bachelors in Molecular Biology, while playing volleyball. Dr. Bohard received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University. Go Beavers! She is also certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture for both large and small animals. When she’s not helping animals in need, Dr. Bohard loves to read, play the piano, stay active in sports, watch the Seahawks, and spend time with her family. She has a fluffy cat named Miss Priss, a naughty pony named Porter, and a sweet little lab mix named Honey.

  • Kelsey Penn
    Certified Veterinary Technician

    Kelsey was born and raised in Washington State as the youngest of four kiddos. She spent her youth loving all animals, hiking, camping, traveling the USA and playing competitive soccer. She continued her soccer career as a Wildcat at Central Washington University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. During her college years she ventured out to travel the world and now has been fortunate enough to visit 17 different countries (and counting). After college she moved to Central Oregon to be a ski bum for a winter season where she discovered Central Oregon Community College's Veterinary Technician program and immediately applied. After graduating with honors, she began her veterinary career in shelter medicine where she spent nearly 5 years helping the homeless animals of our community. To change the pace and explore a new realm of vet med, she dipped her toes into private practice and joined the WAH team and has been happily serving the pets of greater La Pine since. Her home is filled with a Newfie named Boone, an Aussie mix named Laddie, a shepherd mix named Gus, a fluffy cat named Mowgli, and lots-o-chickens.

  • Synthia Sander
    Veterinary Assistant

    Synthia was born and raised in Bend before moving to La Pine as a freshman in high school. She excelled as a member of the National Honor Society and active theatre participant. Synthia has loved  animals of all kinds before she could even walk or talk. After job shadowing with Dr. Bohard her senior year, Synthia knew without a doubt that veterinary medicine was the place for her and started working as a veterinary assistant right away. She plans to further her knowledge by become a Certified Veterinary Technician. At home she has quite the pack with two horses, Cipher and Sunny, two mixed breed dogs, Chevy and Yuki, and a spicy orange kitty named Lucy. In her spare time Synthia enjoys singing, traveling, learning, and spending time with loved ones.

  • Elizabeth Green
    Veterinary Assistant

    Elizabeth was born and raised in La Pine Oregon. She has grown up around all types of animals from cattle all the way to ferrets. Elizabeth has always know that veterinary field was for her and after she graduated from La Pine High School in 2018 she started going to school to become a veterinary assistant and then started in veterinary field not long after that. Elizabeth has been in the veterinary field for over 3 years now and became part of the Wickiup Animal Hospital team March of 2022. She is planning on continuing her education in the world of equine medicine. When Elizabeth is out of the office she enjoys hiking, traveling, competing in rodeos around Central Oregon, and spending time with her family. Elizabeth and her fiancé have quite a little farm of her own with three horses, three crazy dogs, four cats, a little fish tank, 3 rabbits, and 14 chickens.

  • Megan Duarte
    Veterinary Assistant/Client Services Representative

    Megan grew up raising sheep and rabbits through 4H and FFA where she found her passion working with animals. Already an experienced, knowledgeable veterinary assistant, Megan is taking her dedication a step further working through the Certified Veterinary Technician program. Her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are surgery, nursing, and client education.

  • Savannah Niven
    Client Services Representative

    Savannah is from New Zealand, but grew up in Australia. She has always had all sorts of critters in her life, and has worked in varying capacities over the years with animals.
    She came to visit some family here in the US in 2016, and after traveling across the country, she fell in love with Central Oregon and has been here ever since.
    Once she started in Vet Med a few years ago, she really found a passion for this challenging and rewarding career.
    When Savannah is not at the clinic, she loves to spend time in the garden with her pets; Knox & Frank (Long Haired Dachshunds), Baker (Labrador mix), Chad (60lb Sulcata Tortoise) and her fifteen hens.

  • Keyta Ketterman
    Client Services Representative

    Keyta was born in Fort Smith Arkansas but was raised in Portland Oregon. She has three older brothers and no sisters. Keyta was a dancer for twelve years and was even in Jefferson High School's amazing dance program in Portland. She now lives in La Pine Oregon on ten acres with her boyfriend, two dogs named Tilly and Trotter, and three cats named Cleo, Penny and Copper. She loves going hiking, camping, dirt biking and pretty much just being outdoors. She also occasionally remodels furniture and sometimes finds herself in larger remodeling projects such as homes and travel trailers. She loves to joke and have fun and make the people around her laugh and smile.
